Map Description
Old map of Central Europe, Europe, Central, Germany.

Created by John Cary, William Faden, Millard Fillmore in 1813.
  • Covers the several countries of Central Europe (including the German states) in which the Napoleonic Wars were taking place.
  • Does not show war-related features.
  • Areally hand-colored to distinguish the several countries and empires (notably Germany, Poland, Austria, Hungary, and others).
  • Originally printed on more than one sheet (later conjoined to form a single sheet).
  • When affixed to the cloth backing the map sheet was sectioned to 24 panels.
  • This map has some imperfections: use-worn, torn at some fold lines (including the cloth backing). We'll do our best to restore the image before printing.
  • Handwritten inked title slip affixed to cloth backing verso: 1813 war countries Germany &c.
  • Handwritten signature of Millard Fillmore is not present.
  • Mapseller's printed label also affixed to cloth backing verso: Sold by W. Faden Geographer to His Majesty and to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, No. 5 Charing Cross.
