  • Covers the vicinity of the mouth of the Río Chagres and the location of the town of Chagres.
  • Also, shows coastline, coastal features, the river, the harbor, navigational hazards, a "line of fortifications", and pictorial representation of vegetation.
  • Relief shown pictorially and by hachures. Depths shown by soundings.
  • Pen-and-ink on tracing linen and mounted.
  • Oriented with north to the right.
  • "This 1838 tracing is a copy of the ca. 1810 original printed map in an edition of Portulano de la America."--The LUSO-Hispanic World in Maps, page 181.
