- Map shows Missouri with county borders and also parts of Nebraska and Indian Territory, colored by counties; shows towns, roads, railroads, rivers, post offices, and many other details.
- Table shows population numbers of freedmen and slaves by county for the 1840 and 1850 censuses.
- "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1851 by J. H. Colton, in the Clerks Office of the District Court for the South District of N.York."
